Another Intellectual Champion

Janice Fiamengo is a Canadian Professor in the Department of English at the University of Ottawa. She is a declared anti-feminist, defender of freedom of speech and campaigner for the right to dissent.

Sadly, she is standing trial at the Social Justice Tribunals Ontario after she was accused of a human rights violation by a former U of O student.

Yes, you read right : there are social justice tribunals in Canada, where you can be sued and monetarily penalized for undermining other people's perceived notion of justice (i.e. : their feelings).  Apparently, the criminal Justice system is not sufficient enough...

She can be found on Youtube, at StudioBrule where she eloquently articulates her views.

Modern Intellectual Champion

Jordan B. Peterson is "a Canadian clinical psychologist and tenured professor of psychology at the University of Toronto. His research interests include self-deception, mythology, religion, narrative, neuroscience, personality, deception, creativity, intelligence, and motivation." - Wikipedia.

I discovered him because of his controversial stance against the Canadian Bill C-16, which may be considered an overstepping of political correctness into the judicial system. I was captivated by the soundness of his arguments and it got me interested in his teachings - which he generously shares on YouTube and on his own website : http://jordanbpeterson.com/

I believe many would benefit from reading and listening to what this man has to say. His lectures are not at all meant to make the listener feel good - some forced me to take a hard and uncomfortable look at myself. But Mr. Peterson is a master at guiding the listener through complex ideas, using stories, myths, religion and history. And most importantly, he offers some solutions to existential problems. He certainly succeeded in making me think differently about the world and the people who live in it.
